Phra Nakhon Khiri.  ( Need for Click Transport to Hua hin )

Is a historical park in Phetchaburi, Thailand, located on hill overlooking the city.To the locals it is better known as Khao Wang, simply meaning Hill with palace, while the name Phra Nakhon Khiri means Holy City Hill. The park consists of three building groups, located on the three peaks of the 92m high hill. On the western peak is the actual palace with adjoining structures. The middle or central peak is a big chedi named Phra That Chom Phet. The eastern peak houses the Wat Phra Kaeo, the royal temple, built in similar fashion to the Wat Phra Kaeo in Bangkok.

The whole complex was built as a summer palace by King Mongkut, with construction finished in 1860.

The site was registered as an historical park on August 27, 1979, with two of the palace buildings now housing a branch of the Thai National Museum

Hua hin, a very famous vacation destination in Thailand, is well known to Thais and foreigners because of the gracious actions of the Ratanakosin Kings and royal family, starting from the time Hua hin Municipality was renamed “Samoh Rieng”.

  Later when King Pok Klao (Rama VII) succeeded to the throne on February 25th, 1925, His Majesty gave an order to buy land from Mr. Bua Waidab in Ban Klong Panieng Yai. Besides Prachao Nares Worarit, the servants Bua Waidab and their friends dedicated another part of land to the king for building the palace. His Majesty the King gave about 1,000 baht to the landowner. The project head engineer was M.C. Itthithepsan Kridakorn (Poh), the son of Krom Phra Nares Worarit, who had graduated from L’ ?cole Nationale Des Beaux Arts (National School of Fine Arts), Paris, (some sources said Italy), director of the art institute. Originally the land area was 337 Rai 67 square meters. Later, during the present reign, the King has visited the palace almost every year so land has been bought and buildings constructed. The total area is now around 400 Rai.

The Hua Hin railway station in one of the oldest in Thailand waiting and it most striking feature is the unique, Thai style Royal Waiting Room. This waiting room was moved from Sanam Chan to Hua Hin during the reign of King Vajiravudh,Rama 6.

This rainy season palace was built for King Chulalonglorn in 1916, modelled after Kaiser Wilhelms palace in Germany Originally called Ban Puen Palace, This rainy season palace was built for King Chulalonglorn in 1916, modelled after Kaiser Wilhelms palace in Germany Originally called Ban Puen Palace, the name was changed to Phraram Ratchanivet in 1918 when it was used to accommodate state visitors. This very structure with domes and brown tiled roof was renovated in 1987.Catch a glimpse of the colourful tiles in the dining room and main staircase, or study scenes from Petchaburi at the turn of the century.

MURUK  KHATAYAWAN  PALACE( Need for Click Transport to Hua hin )

This beautiful golden teak palace, with its airy walkways and buildings, was used by King Vajiravudh as a

summer residence in the mid 1920s. Its elegant two-storey pavilions face the sea, linked together by a series of elevated walkways. One pavilion was used occasionally as a theatre indulging the King's love of drama. The palace of Love and Hope has been lovingly restored and provides a whistful setting to stroll around. Located in the grounds of King Rama 6 Military Camp.

municipality, 230 kilometers from Bangkok, is located in the east of Hua hin district, Prachuabkirikhan, next to the gulf of Thailand. Total area is 86.36 square kilo meters or 53,975 Rai. Petchkasem road  (highway no.4)cut through this area to a length of 22 kilometers. The area of Hua hin is mostly agricultural, unoccupied and military. As a great number of tourist venues, hotels, resorts, restaurants and tourist stitutions are located here, huge numbers of tourists fly into Hua hin, producing a tourist evenue in Hua hin of about 8,000 million baht per year.

Hua hin municipality is the site of the royal boundary, Klai Kangwon Palace, where  His Majesty the King

and Her Majesty the Queen frequently stay. Hua hin municipality is also in a pollution control area and

under environment control measurement.
